This beloved local spot is a go-to for both George Washington University students and neighborhood professionals seeking a casual yet elevated dining experience.
The menu is a delightful journey through mouthwatering American classics with a creative edge. Signature dishes like the creamy, indulgent SD Mac & Cheese and golden, crispy SD Tater Tots—a staff and customer favorite—showcase the kitchen’s knack for comforting, crave-worthy bites. For something with a little zest, the G Street Fish Tacos impressively balance freshness and spice, while the Almost Famous Wings deliver big on flavor with just the right amount of kick. Burgers also grab the spotlight here, with the juicy Tuffle Burger and the innovative Impossible Burger and Fries offering hearty options for both meat lovers and vegetarians alike.
Perfectly complementing the food is a thoughtfully curated beverage list. From the invigorating zing of their homemade Ginger Beer to classic cocktails like the refreshing Mojito, the bar scene at Tonic At Quigley’s is alive and inviting. Their beer selection includes gems like the Allagash White, which pairs beautifully with both lighter fare and richer dishes. For those seeking non-alcoholic options, choices like sparkling San Pellegrino and nostalgic Root Beer round out the drink menu nicely.

Whether you’re looking to unwind after work, meet friends for brunch, or dive into spirited karaoke nights upstairs on Fridays, Tonic At Quigley’s effortlessly blends the comfort of a local bar with the sophistication of a quality dining destination. Visitors can expect attentive, personable service, bustling yet comfortable spaces, and a menu bursting with comforting flavors that feel both familiar and exciting. As noted by regulars, the combination of generous portion sizes, quality ingredients, and a lively yet laid-back vibe makes this an enduring favorite. Whether savoring the tangy chicken tots with mumbo sauce, indulging in the hearty jalapeño honey chicken sandwich, or delighting in the rich sweetness of the house-made panna cotta, each bite is a reminder of why Tonic At Quigley’s holds a special place in DC’s dining scene.
One of our favorite places to go to in foggy bottom. Has the feel of a local bar, but has upscale food for slightly above average. I love the fact that we can order from our table in the food automatically and close out our bill all through of the QR. My favorite thing here is the seared sesame seed tuna salad.
My favorite place for karaoke in DC. Third floor on Fridays. There is plenty of seating including big comfortable couches. The jalapeno honey chicken sandwich is my favorite there. It's good size. Food is a little more expensive. About 16 to 20 a meal. But I have been back multiple times so it's not outrageous or anything. They have moderate priced beers.
Friendly neighborhood club that is frequented by college students and workers alike. $6 happy hour specials include rails, draft beers and the summertime favorite Frose. The chicken tots with mumbo sauce are the best appetizer followed closely by the totchos. Good spot for gatherings with friends.
Tonic at Quigley’s is such a fun and quirky spot—tucked away near GW, it has a cozy, casual vibe that’s perfect for everything from brunch with friends to a chill dinner date. The historic building adds charm, and the outdoor seating is a great bonus when the weather’s nice. The food is definitely comfort-focused in the best way. I had the tater tots (of course!) and they totally lived up to the hype—crispy, golden, and addictive. I also tried the shrimp & grits, and it was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Great portions, too! Drinks were solid and fairly priced, with a nice mix of local beers and classic cocktails. The service was friendly, though a little slow at times—nothing major, but noticeable during busier hours.
Pretty good restaurant, right by GW's campus. Their food was good, I recommend the fish tacos, and any of the burgers. THE TATOR TOTS are so good. The staff was very nice, but it was quite busy. The inside is cute, and there is so much seating: first floor inside, second floor inside, outside in the front, and outside in the back. Overall a good experience!
It’s a nice hangout place with a simple food and drinks menu. You won’t eat the meal of a lifetime here but the atmosphere makes up for that. It’s also well priced by DC standards.
